A three-day trade fair titled ‘Trade in Bangladesh’ began at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday with a view to boosting Dhaka-KL trade.
Former prime minister of Malaysia Tun Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi inaugurated the fair as the chief guest, said a press release. Switzerland and Azerbaijan ambassadors in Malaysia were also present on the occasion.
Headmaster Events in collaboration with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association are organising the event.
Hundreds of Bangladeshi products, including handicraft, footwear, RMG, tourism, housing,
banks, insurance and cosmetics, will be put on display at 70 stalls from 10:00am to 7:00pm every day.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Bangladesh Tourism Board, Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation, Pubali Bank, Popular Life Insurance Co, Regent Airways and National Credit and Commerce Bank Ltd are the key participants of the trade show.
Sponsors of the fair are Regent Airways, National Credit and Commerce Bank, Bangladesh Tourism Board and Elenga Hotel Sdn Bhd (Malaysia).
