Bangladesh remained goldless after the fourth day’s play of the Fifth South Asian Shooting Championship at the BKSP Shooting Range on Wednesday.
India and Pakistan with six and two respectively shared the eight golds that were decided on the day.
Women 10 M Air Pistol, Men 50 M Rifle Three Position, Men 25 M Standard Pistol and Skit (50 Shot) were played on the fourth day.
India claimed both team and individual title of the Women 10M Air Pistol.
Scoring 479.5 India’s Harvin Srao bagged gold of the individual round followed by Mehwish Masud of Pakistan scoring 475.8 and Hina Sidhu of India scoring 477.5 points.
In the group round, India collected 1131 points to claim the gold, Bangladesh 1095 points for silver and Sri Lanka 1092 for bronze.
India also maintained supremacy in the Men 25M Standard Pistol lifting both team and individual events. Ashok Pandit of India won gold winning scoring 566 followed by his compatriot Bijoy Kumar with 561 and Mustakim Shah of Pakistan with 551.
To bag gold of the event’s team round, India put together 1677 points while Pakistan scored 1638 to win the silver and Bangladesh scored 1403 to win the bronze.
The same story was with India in the Men 50M Rifle Three Position (3×40 shots). The neighbouring country bagged both the team and individual gold of the event.
Scoring 1165, Sanjib Rajput of India won individual gold, his compatriot Imran Hossain Khan won silver scoring 1150 and SMM Samarakun of Sri Lanka scored 1142 for bronze.
Besides, India collected 3437 points to win the events team gold followed by Bangladesh winning silver having scored 3358 and Pakistan scored 3348 to win bronze.
In the skeet competition, Pakistan won the team event gold scoring 333, Indian earned the silver making 326 while Bangladesh bagged the bronze scoring 307.
Reza Ali Munir clinched the first individual gold medal for Pakistan in the meet in skeet competition making 114, Mairaj Ahmed Khan of India won the bronze medal making 112 while Ahmad Usman of Pakistan bagged the bronze scoring 110.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry M Zahid Hasan Russell, MP, was the chief guest on the 4th day (Wednesday) and distributed the prizes.
Women’s 50 meter rifles three position (3×20 shots) will be held today (Thursday), the closing day of the five-day South Asian Shooting Championship.
