Bangladeshi Company M/s. Chittaong Waste Treatment Plants limited is going to established Central Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) in Chittagong Export Processing Zone.
This 100% local owned company will invest US$ 6.01 million aims to treat everyday 15 thousand cubic meters liquid effluent of the zone. They will establish Central Effluent Treatment Plant with the space of 17,386.61 sq. meter.
By installing this Effluent Treatment Plant the environment of Chittagong EPZ will be more standard and keep environment pollution free. The company will also create employment opportunity for 230 Bangladeshi nationals.
An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and the M/s Chittaong Waste Treatment Plants limited in BEPZA Complex, Dhaka today (14-01-2009). Mr. Prasanta Bhushan Barua, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Hazi Dalil Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of M/s. Chittaong Waste Treatment Plants limited signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organization.
Brig General Jamil Ahmed Khan, ndc, psc: Executive Chairman of BEPZA and other officials from respective organisations were present on the occasion.
