Hijackers shot a Bangladeshi expatriate worker in Lebanon.
The injured is Nurul Islam, a resident of Mymensingh’s Gafargaon upazila, according to the Bangladeshi Embassy in Lebanon.
The incident happened early on Saturday, October 15, 2022, in the Juni district, close to the Sabra Bridge on the Tabarja Highway Road.
Two snatchers blocked Nurul Islam’s motorcycle as he was riding to work on Tabarja Highway Road.
The robbers shot him in the stomach after he prevented them from snatching his motorcycle and mobile phone.
Upon hearing the news, local Bangladeshi expatriates hurried to the scene and brought Nurul Islam to the hospital. Physicians claim that he is still in danger.
The hijackers were Syrian refugees, the Bangladeshis claimed.
The incident was promptly reported to the Lebanese police who have gone on the field to take action against the offenders, said the Bangladesh Embassy in Lebanon.
