Zimbabwe Cricket did not bother to listen to the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s request of starting the month-long tour of the Tigers with the one-day international series as the tour will begin with a two-match Test series in Harare. Earlier the BCB requested ZC to launch the series with the shorter version of the game though the original itinerary provided by ZC revealed that the two Tests will be played first.
Bangladesh will board for the month-long tour of Zimbabwe on April 12 and are scheduled to play their first two Test matches at Harare from April 17-21 and April 25-29 respectively before traveling to Bulawayo for the three-match ODI series and the two-match Twenty20 internationals.
The one-day internationals will be played at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on May 3, 5 and 8 to be followed by the Twenty20 internationals on May 11 and 12.
It was surprising that Bangladesh will not be provided with a practice game before the start of the tour, which is a norm followed in any bilateral series in recent times.
