After not having received a suitable offer for its worldwide media rights, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has launched a separate tender for the media rights for the upcoming West Indies tour to Bangladesh, which is scheduled to take place from November 5 to December 11 this year.
As per the new deadline set by the BCB, companies are required to send in their offers by October 10. One of the conditions of the tender requires interested applicants to pay a security deposit of 25,000 dollars.
Earlier, the BCB were unsuccessful in selling its worldwide media rights after negotiations between the board and Virgo Media, the only applicant to have accepted all the conditions of the previous tender, failed. With the series against the West Indies a little more than a month away, the board has taken the decision to sign a media contract just for the series.
