The Bangladesh Cricket Board is trying to bring Zimbabwe in November for playing a Test series as it is trying to split the upcoming home series, said an official on Saturday.
The BCB decided to propose for the new arrangement to the Zimbabwe Cricket Board as the Cricket Australia postponed their tour on security reasons, giving Tigers ample of time at present.
Initially Bangladesh and Zimbabwe were scheduled to play three Tests and seven one-day internationals in January but BCB proposed to alter the itinerary as per the request of the team-management.
According to an earlier revised plan, the Tigers were set to play two Test matches along with three ODIs and three Twenty20 internationals from January 11 to February 7.
However, BCB now wants to play the Test series in November and carry on the ODI’s and Twenty20 internationals according to the earlier plan.
‘We proposed to host the Test series in November,’ BCB cricket operation chairman Naimur Rahman told New Age on Saturday.
‘As we don’t have the Australia series we want to play the Test series in November and carry on the rest of the series as per schedule,’ said Naimur.
