BCS information technology fair ‘BCSICTWORLD’ will be held from October 30 to November 2 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, the organisers said at a news briefing Wednesday at the BCS office in Dhaka.
Mustafa Jabbar, president of the Bangladesh Computer Samity, spoke at the briefing while convener of the fair Mazibur Rahman Sawpon briefed reporters on different issues of the fair.
The finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith is scheduled to open the fair at the media centre of the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre while information and culture minister Abul Kalam Azad, commerce minister Farukh Khan and state minister for science and ICT Yafes Osman will be the special guests.
A total of 65 ICT companies will attend the fair, with 71 stalls and 25 pavilions in its 50,000 square foot area.
‘The fair aims to inform people of what is going on in the ICT sector in the country and to educate people about ICT issues,’ said BCS president Mustafa Jabbar.
‘We got a good response from the ICT companies. There will be some special arrangements for the visitors,’ said convenor of the fair Mazibur Rahman.
There will be seminars and different programmes at the fair so that the visitors can participate beside visiting stalls. Every day 10 prizes, including a laptop, will be awarded to audiences through raffle draw.
The price of the entry ticket is Tk 20 but school students, showing their identity, can enter the fair without fee.
The fair will be open from 10:00am to 8:00pm every day.
