Biman Bangladesh Airlines has launched Frequent Flyer Programme (FFP) named ‘Biman Loyalty Club’ and a new duty free sky shop with a view to raise the standard of the national flag carrier, reports BSS. Biman launched its new product in a colourful ceremony with the presence of Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Faruk Khan at a city hotel last night. Under its FFP any passenger can avail a green Biman loyalty card to start earning miles by signing up online on the Biman website or manually at sales outlets. The passenger can update the green card to silver and gold cards gradually for enjoying exciting facilities from the airline.
When a member completes 10,000 miles of journey, he or she can start utilise it by way of availing a free domestic return journey or a free one-way journey on Kathmandu or Kolkata route.
Payment for excess baggage, entrance to the Business Class Lounge in Dhaka or an upgrade from Economy to Business Class can also be paid with the earned miles.
Biman also launched its new in-flight duty free shop with a collection of wide range world renowned brand products as desire of Prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
Faruk Khan said Sheikh Hasina’s government believes that Biman will be able to become a truly international standard carrier soon. The Present government took lots of initiatives including procuring numbers of brand new aircraft including Boeing 777-300 to achieve the target.
The minister said the Biman will be turned into a profit making airline by next year in line with the government’s planning.
He said Biman will resume its New York flight soon and is planning to connect with Australia.
Biman Chairman Air Marshal (retd) Jamal Uddin Ahmed and CEO and managing director Kevin Steel also spoke on the occasion.
