The 29th Bashundhara National Age-Group Swimming Competition came to an end at the Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex in Mirpur on Sunday, with BKSP maintaining their utter dominance in the sport. BKSP won 58 gold, 44 silver and 29 bronze medals from 100 events during the three-day competition. Bangladesh Ansar grabbed 15 gold, 19 silver and 15 bronze medals to claim the second spot.
Three more national records fell on Sunday, taking the total of new national records to fall at the meet to 11.
Ariful Islam won 13 gold medals and Morium Khatun won eight golds, three silvers and one bronze – with two national records – to become the champions of their respective individual categories.
Jahidul Islam and Titu mia grabbed 11 gold medals each, while Nayan Ali and Rasheda Khatun snatched six gold medals apiece.
Bangladesh Swimming Federation vice-president Vice Admiral M. Farid Habib was present to distribute prizes to the winners.
