Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members recovered a pair of blood-stained pants from the office of the son of influential MP Nasim Osman in the city on Wednesday. In a raid on ‘Winner Fashion’, known as torture cell of Azmeri Osman, at Allama Iqbal Road, the elite force members also seized a sofa and an almirah with bullet marks and detained four people for interrogation in connection with the Toki murder case. A special team of the crime busters, numbering 40, conducted the raid on ‘Winner Fashion’ around 12 noon as part of RAB’s investigation into the killing of the schoolboy, said Lt Col Jahangir, commanding officer of RAB-11, who led the drive.
During the two-hour raid, the RAB members found numerous marks of bullets on the walls and sofas of the office.
Later, the elite force members detained four employees — Jamshed, Litu, Shipon and Shukkur – and seized a sofa and a cupboard with bullet marks as evidence.
They also recovered a pair of blood-stained jeans pants, three closed-circuit cameras, rope, a broken hockey-stick, a CPO, two monitors, a DVR, some lethal weapons and bamboo sticks from the office.
During the raid, the RAB members took position at different points at Allama Iqbal Road and nearby lanes, sending the city dwellers into panic.
Narayanganj cultural activist Rafiur Rabbi’s son Tanvir Ahmed Toki went missing on Mar 6 this year.
Later, he was found dead on the bank of the Shitalakkhya River on March 8. Awami League leader Shamim Osman and his family members were said to be involved in the murder.
Rabbi had long been alleging that Toki was killed at the office of Azmeri after torture. He also wrote to police in this connection.
