BNP-supported Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum (BJAF) swept in the Supreme Court Bar Association elections.
According to the result announced early Friday of BNP-backed candidates got 11 posts out of 14 while ruling Awami League backed Bangladesh Sammilita Ainjibi Samannay Parishad (BSASP) got three.
Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, an adviser to the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, was re-elected president while Md Bodruddoza Badal became the new general secretary.
Fahima Nasrin Munni, a former deputy attorney general of the BNP-Jamaat alliance government, won the post of treasurer.
The pro-AL panel won three posts including the post of vice-president and assistant secretary.
The two-day annual elections were held from Wednesday to Thursday.
The others office bearers of BJAF are , Md Asadullah, vice-president and AHM Kamruzzaman Mamun, assistant secretary.
ASM Muktar Kabir Khan, Marzina Raihan (Madina), Begum Delwara Habib, ABM Rafiqul Haque Talukdar Raja, Shawkat Ara Begum Dulali and Md Shahidul Islam were elected executive members from the BNP backed panel.
AKM Jaglul Hayder Afric was elected vice-president while SM Masud Hossain Dolon elected assistant secretary and Jesmin Akter Keya, executive member from the Awami League backed panel.
Bodruddoza Badal got highest votes, 1219 in the election.
