The second phase of the Bangladesh Premier League will began from April 15, the official of the Bangladesh Football Federation said on Saturday.
The BFF professional football league committee at a meeting on Saturday decided that they will start the home and away basis phase three days after the final match of ongoing Independence Cup football tournament.
The player registration window for the second phase will be closed on Saturday night and the teams will have to submit their final 33 players list by April 12.
The second phase matches will take place in three venues – Bangabandhu National Stadium, Gopalgonj Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium and Chittagong MA Aziz Stadium.
The PFLC refused to give a green signal to Feni Soccer Club to play their home matches at the Feni district stadium as some renovation works are still going on there.
‘We will inspect the stadium facilities then will take the decision,’ said Abdus Salam Murshedi, senior vice-president of the BFF, on Saturday.
‘Besides, we will start the second phase of the league in the other three venues from April 15 and the second phase of the Bangladesh Championship League will also begin on the same day,’ added Murshedi, who is also chairman of the PFLC.
The PFLC also gave permission to the Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra, last year’s champions, to participate in the AFC Presidents Cup, which is scheduled to begin on May 7 in Sri Lanka.
