Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday asked the Dhaka Stock Exchange to submit a report on the glitches in the bourse’s new trading software MSA plus.
The regulator sent letters to the DSE president Ahsanul Islam and chief executive officer Sawpan Kumar Bala asking them to submit the report within seven days. The BSEC is currently running an investigation into the software problems of the DSE after the bourse had suspended its trading in two separate occasions.
The drawback of the new trading software of DSE came into regulatory attention after the bourse had to suspend trading in the opening hour on a couple of occasions — on the days Generation Next Fashion and Envoy Textiles debuted on the bourse.
After the suspensions the BSEC in late March formed a committee headed by its executive director Anowarul Islam with executive director Ashraful Islam and director Sheikh Mahbub ur Rahman as two other members of the committee.
DSE on June 10 last year introduced the online-based trading system, but the MSA Plus software failed to cheer the investors because of its unfriendly user interface.
