Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot a Bangladeshi cattle trader dead in Goborda area of India, opposite to Boikari border of Satkhira, early yesterday.
The deceased is Ataur Rahman, 30, from Babulia village in Satkhira.
Villagers in the bordering area said BSF personnel of Goborda camp in India’s West Bengal opened fire at some 25 Bangladeshi nationals leaving Ataur dead on the spot around 4:00am, while they were returning from India with cattle.
Sources said Ataur’s body with a bullet in his abdomen had been abandoned there for around seven hours when Indian villagers went to the spot to watch the body.
