Maaimp, a consortium of several private firms called Mediacom, Ardent, Asiatic, Mindshare and Impress Matra and Property, has won the terrestrial and satellite broadcasting rights of the ICC World Twenty20 2014 in Bangladesh, this was announced at a press conference on Tuesday. The consortium handed over the terrestrial rights to state-owned Bangladesh Television and satellite channel Maasranga Television to broadcast the event, scheduled for March 16 – April 6.
Faridur Reza Sagar, an official of Impress Telefilm, said in the press conference that they secured the rights from Starsports, the original broadcasting rights-holder of the tournament.
‘We will share the revenue with Starsports. The more successful the tournament will be the more revenue we will get,’ he said.
Maaimp sought cooperation from all to broadcast the tournament successfully.
Anan Chowdhury from Mediacom, Afzal Hossain and Sanaul Arefin from Matra, MAH Khokon from Ardent, Morshed Alam from Asiatic and Mindshare and Kamruzzaman Kamal from Property among others were present at the press conference.
