Police evacuated inmates of a building on Akmol Ali Road under EPZ police station in the Chittagong city after it tilted Wednesday noon.
People got panicked when cracks developed on the wall of the building named Sovon Monjil.
Police rushed to the spot and started empting the building to avert untoward situation.
Abul Monsur, officer-in-charge of EPZ police station, said the building might collapse at any time.
So, police evacuated the inmates and ordered the residents of the adjacent areas to move away as soon as possible, he added.
