At least four people were killed when a bus packed with 35 passengers plunged into a water-filled roadside ditch at Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj on Monday.
Two of the deceased were identified as Subarna, daughter of Sumon Miah of Abirpara village, and Abdur Rahman, 45, of Tongibari, reports our Munshiganj correspondent.
The accident occurred around 1:30pm when a Dhaka-bound bus plunged into a roadside ditch after its driver lost his control over steering, said Mohammad Sahabuddin,
superintendent of police of Munshiganj.
Abdul Matin Hawladar, local union parishad chairman, confirmed the death of four people including two minors.
The SP however confirmed the death of two passengers. Law enforcers sent an injured child to Dhaka in critical condition, he said.
Fire fighters pulled up the sunken bus from under 15 feet of water.
The bus was heading for Kalibari of Tongibari from Dhaka.
