Two goals in first five minutes were enough for K-League outfit Busan I’Park to beat Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club 2-0 in their friendly match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday. Midfielder Kim Jingyu scored in just 45 seconds and Forward Yoon Dongmin doubled lead in the 5th minute to send a chill in Jamal tent in front of their several thousand supporters.But the local outfit soon regrouped to stem further damage and provide an entertaining game in the end to their credit.
Kim poked the ball past Jamal goalkeeper Mazharul Islam Himel to the far post to make it 1-0 after forward Park Yongi flicked the ball to him.
Yoon Dongmin then dribbled past his marker and volleyed the ball into the far post receiving a cross from Ju Se Jong to raise the tally.
Jamal made an attempt to return to the contest through their dethroned captain Mamunul Islam, whose left footed placing shot missed the target by a whisker in the 22nd-minute.
Gambian midfielder of Jamal Landing Darboe failed to connect on a curling free-kick of Mamunul in the 31st minute.
Jamal keeper Himel was lucky not to receive a red card in the seventh minute after the interval when he went out of the box to clear a ball with his left hand. The referee awarded him with a yellow card.
I’Park were denied by side post in the 81st minute when substitute forward Kim Jimin’s header off a Lee Gyusung’s cross hit the woodwork.
Their keeper Lee Changgeun produced a superb save in the 88th minute to deny Sohel Rana’s powerful strike from outside the box.
Nasir squandered a great chance in the 90th minute when he shot over the bar from the middle of the box following a free-kick from Mamunul.
Despite the loss, Jamal coach Maruful Haque was happy with his charges performance.
‘Though the result did not go in our favour, I’m happy with the performance of my team,’ Maruf told reporters after the match.
‘We conceded the first goal due to defensive blunder and they doubled the lead as Nasir lost his body control.’
Maruf insisted that his side produced more chances but due to lack of finishing skills, they could not find the opponents’ net.
I’Park coach Yoon Sung Hyo, on the other hand, regretted the margin despite taking a 2-0 lead inside five minutes.
‘I thought they [forwards] would get more goals after getting early leads, but they failed to capitalise on that,’ Yoon said.
‘The surface was little bit hard, so my players needed time to adjust with it. May be this is one of reason we could not win by a bigger margin.’
