The Retail Council of Canada (RCC), a Canadian association representing more than 40,000 stores of all retail formats, has expressed its commitment to working with its members and the international community to drive change in Bangladesh to help prevent incidents like the Savar tragedy. Offering sincere condolences to the victims of the Savar tragedy and their families, the RCC has decided to work with members in Canada and with global partners to develop an updated set of responsible trade guidelines, best practices, educational materials and resources for the industry, stated the RCC website.
In order to have a broader impact, RCC has joined a North-American coalition consisting of the following industry associations: American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA), National Retail Federation (NRF), and Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA).
