The three-day Chittagong Apparel, Fabrics and Accessories Exposition organized by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association concluded at CJKS indoor stadium on Saturday.
Former commerce minister Amir Khashru Mahmud Chowdhury was the chief guest at the concluding session of the exposition while former state minister for forest Jafrul Islam Chowdhury was special guest.
BGMEA president Abdus Salam Morshedy presided over the closing session of the exposition, organized for the 9th year in the city. BGMEA first vice president Nasiruddin Chowdhury, among others, addressed the function.
The chief guest, in his address, stressed the need for developing the garment sector to achieve double-digit growth of gross domestic product.
Different companies from home and abroad, including Japan, Pakistan, China, Korea and France, set up 35 stalls of fabrics, accessories and garment machineries at the exposition.
The CAPAXPO-2011 drew huge response from the entrepreneurs in garment industry, organisers of the exhibition said.
