Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s family was threatened that his son Aryan would be framed in a narcotics case unless he paid ? 25 crore, according to the FIR filed by the CBI against Sameer Wankhede, former zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
Independent witness KP Gosavi, whose selfie with Aryan Khan went viral, tried to extort Rs 25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan allegedly on behalf of the then NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede who has been named as accused number one in the CBI’s FIR.
The CBI has named Sameer Wankhede, a 2008 batch IRS officer, V.V Singh, Superintendent with NCB, and Ashish Ranjan, the then investigative officer in the Aryan Khan drugs case as accused in the case along with KP Gosavi and his associate D’Souza.
Wankhede and others allegedly demanded Rs 25 crore bribe for not framing Aryan Khan in the drug bust case, according to the CBI.
“Sameer Wankhede as then Zonal Director of NCB and in the capacity of the immediate supervisory officer, had directed to take KP Gosavi and Prabhakar Sail as the independent witness in the proceedings against the accused and directed V.V. Singh to let KP Gosavi handle the accused while taking him to NCB office and thereby allowing a free hand to KP Gosavi and others in order to create such a visual impression of KP Gosavi having the custody of the accused and escorting and dragging him towards NCB Mumbai office,” the CBI FIR read.
