Legendary singer Rathindranath Roy’s daughter Chandra Roy is going to release her first basic solo album ‘Boroshar Himel Hawa’ in the next week with a view to touch the heart of listeners like her father.
Audiovisual production house Laser Vision will bring the album in the market. Renowned music director, lyricist and singer Basu composed the songs of the album while Shokal, Antora, Proshenjit, Basu and Anis wrote the songs. The album contains 10 songs among which four are jointly sung by Chandra and Basu.
About the album of her daughter, Rathindranath said, “I have listened to some of her songs. She sings well, not bad. I always like to appreciate and welcome any young singer like her if he sings basic songs. Hope, listeners will enjoy the songs.”
Music director of the album, Basu said, “Chandra came to render songs after learning, not before learning like many others. She sings very well. I am very optimistic about the success of her new album.”
Chandra took her first lesson on music from her mother in childhood and later learned respectively from Swapna Roy, Surojit Roy, Sazzad Hossain and Khairul Anam Shakil. Her first solo album ‘Jokhon Thambe Kolahol’ was released in 2009 in New York.
