Chelsea (FASS) beat PSG (MBA) 4-1 in the final of the AIUB Champions League 2013 Football Tournament to become the champions on Tuesday.
The 32-team tournament took place at the Banani Club ground in Dhaka from July 1-9 and pitted students, faculty and officers from different departments against each other for the title.
Chelsea’s Abdul Kadir was named the man of the match of the final, while team-mate Shehab was selected as the best player of the tournament. PSG’s Adib was the tournament’s leading scorer with six goals.
AIUB faculty members Dr Charles C Villanueva, Professor Dr A B M Siddique Hossain, Professor Dr Tazul Islam, Dr Ehsanul Huda Chowdhury and Abdul Kader Nazmul were present in the final and gave prizes, trophies and certificates to the players after the match.
