Inter-club player transfers begins on Nov 6
With the inter-club player transfers for the upcoming Dhaka Premier League looming closer, almost all 22 players of national pool have finalised their clubs, said the players and club officials.
Former skipper Mohammad Ashraful is the latest player to confirm his side, changing his destination from Mohammedan SC to Cricket Coaching School. Mohammedan decided to complete their pool player quota with Tamim Iqbal, Faisal Hossain and Sakib al Hasan with the latter joining from their arch-rivals Abahani.
Abahani roped in Mahmudullah from Mohammadan and he along with Mashrafee bin Murtaza and Imrul Kayes are completing their quota of three pool players. Abahani released Nazmul Hossain and Robiul Islam, who are joining newcomers Prime Doleshwar and CCS respectively.
Last year’s runners-up Bangladesh Biman will retain the services of Mushfiqur Rahim, Jahirul Islam and Shafiul Islam while Syed Rasel will join Shahriar Nafees and Naeem Islam to complete the quota of Gazi Tanks. Gazi released Abdur Razzak who will join DOHS along side Aftab Ahmed and Rubel Hossain.
Middle-order batsman Roqibul Hassan and paceman Shahadat Hossain will play for Kalabagan KC while Surjo Tarun are close to signing Junaed Siddique and Sohrawardi Shuvo.
Of the 12 clubs, only Victoria, BKSP and newcomers Orient SC have no pool players at their disposal.
The inter-club players’ transfer will begin on November 6 and the Dhaka Premier League is scheduled to begin on December 18, three days after the five-match one-day series against Zimbabwe concludes.
