The Dhaka Premier League clubs refused to pay any importance on the proposed pay structure placed by the Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh for
the forthcoming edition, said officials on Monday.
The Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis sat with the club members to discuss the pay structure that was provided by the CWAB recently but failed to change their mind as they slightly increased the payment of the A+ grade players.
The CWAB had proposed Tk 30 to 35 lakh for four A+ grade players – Sakib al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Nasir Hossain and Mushfiqur Rahim whereas the clubs offered Tk 20 lakh.
‘They [clubs] decided to increase only two lakh for the A+ grade players,’ said a BCB official who wished not to be named. ‘They are hardly intrested to increase money for the other grades,’ he added.
CCDM chairman Jalal Yunus added that they also briefed the club officials about the forthcoming players’ recruitment by rotational policy that is expected to be introduced for the first time in the league.
