After disrupting life for the past two days, the rain has stopped, but the cold will linger for another two days, a meteorologist told The Independent on Monday.
Thankfully, the vital one-day cricket match between host Bangladesh and Sri Lanka resumed after the irritating drizzle stopped suddenly, perhaps heeding the prayers of millions who wanted to see their boys outplay the visitors avenging a T-20 defeat last week. Light rain or thundershowers have been forecast at one or two places in Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours beginning at 6 pm on Monday. The rain was due to what the meteorologist described as a “mating between a westerly disturbance or high pressure with southerly moisture-laden air as a result of a cold jet stream” hanging over West Bengal and its adjoining areas.
