A female student of Dhaka City College died after falling from the rooftop of her house in
Hazaribagh area in the city on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Tamanna Anjum Mustafa, 23, daughter of Mohammad Golam Mustafa, also a third-year student of Accounting Department of Dhaka City College. Father of the victim businessman Mohammad Golam Mustafa, at Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue premises, told The Independent, “Tamanna was seriously injured after she fell on the ground from the roof of the six-storey building, located at 43/13 Hazi Afsar Uddin Road of Hazaribagh area in the city, at around 12:45pm, as the roof became very slippery following continuous rainfall on Friday.”
The family members and neighbours immediately rushed Tamanna to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on duty doctors declared her dead at around 1:30pm.
Officer-in-Charge of Hazaribagh Police Station Mohammad Iqbal Hossain told The Independent, “According to the family members and neighbours, she accidentally fell from the rooftop but we are carrying on investigation to ascertain the cause of the death.”
Tamanna was the eldest among two daughters and one son of their parents.
