A couple, injured in a road accident on Saturday, died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital early Sunday. The deceased were identified as Abdur Rashid Sarker, 50, general secretary of Nalitabari upazila unit Krishak Dal, and his wife Harbala Begum, 45, of village Kapashia in the upazila. Police said Abdur Rashid along with his two wives was going to village Bagichapur to attend the funeral of his relative on Saturday.
The accident took place at Kapashia around 7:00pm when a human hauler hit the motorcycle they were riding, leaving them critically injured.
They were rushed to Nalitabari Upazila Health Complex from where Rashid and Harbala were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital but they died at about 4:00am Sunday.
Bulun Nesa, 32, Rashid’s second wife, was undergoing treatment at the upazila health complex.
