Due to the adverse weather caused by Cyclone Sitrang, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar airports will be closed for 21 hours, from 3 p.m. today until 12 p.m. tomorrow.
Both Wing Commander Farhad H. Khan, director of Chattogram Airport, and Joydev Kumar Biswas, aerodrome officer at Cox’s Bazar Airport, confirmed this to The Daily Star.
Cyclone Sitrang, which is now located around 495 kilometers south-southwest of Payra port and moving towards the coast at a pace of 15 kilometers per hour, is expected to cross between Barishal and Chattogram near Khepupara tomorrow (October 25, 2022) morning, according to the Met Office.
