Noted Nazrul singer Dalia Nausheen was greeted by her fellow singers and family members at a programme at the Radious Center, Gushan 1, in the capital on Thursday. The album titled Dol Purnima Raate, which is the first solo album of Nausheen in her long and eventful singing career, features ten timeless songs of the National poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Kolkata based eminent musician Rahul Chatterjee, the son-in-law of legendary singer Manabendra Mukherjee, has directed the music for the album.
Sudhin Das, a Nazrul exponent and also the music teacher of Nausheen, unveiled the album cover at the programme as the chief guest. In his speech, Das informed about Dalia Nausheen’s dedication towards music. He also shared his memories of thewhen he took the responsibility to teach Nausheen when she was only five years old.
Besides Sudhin Das, eminent singers of the country including Nazrul singer Shaheen Samad, Khairul Anam Shakil, Sadya Afreen Mallick and Salauddin Ahmed; Tagore singer Fahim Hossain Chowdhury, recitation artiste Bhaskar Bandopadhyay, and others also greeted the singer at the programme.
The singers in their speeches said that Dalia Nausheen’s devotion towards music is matchless. The way she masters the difficult genre of music like Nazrul songs despite different obstacles could be an example for the upcoming artistes. They also informed that Dalia Nausheen, who is also trained in classical music, is a skilled singer of songs of yesteryears, thumri and kirtan.
Dalia Nausheen’s family members including her mother Hosneara Islam, her husband Azad and her younger sister Nazia talked at the programme.
Earlier, the Shadhona artiste Parimita presented a beautiful dance synchronized with one of the songs from the album Dolon chapa boney doley.
The other songs incorporated in the album are Mone rakher din, Aamar nayone nayon, Mor ghomu ghorey ele, Bhiru e moner koli, Jae jhil jhilmil, Tumi shunite cheyona, Mo na mitite asha, Bon bihongo jao re and Sokho sajaye rakhlo.
The programme included a live music session with Ustad Rawshan Ali Khan on sarangi, Rahul Chatterjee on sitar, Gautam Shom on keyboard, Pradyut Banerjee on guitar, Shushanto Nandi on flute, Sanjibon Achariya on percussion and Joy Dev Nandi on tabla.
