Darshana Sugar Mills will go into production from December 6. A preparatory meeting with the managing director of the mill Azizur Rahman was held in Chuadanga in this connection.
Top officials of the mill and sugarcane welfare society leaders, workers union leaders, six zonal chiefs of the mill and leading sugarcane cultivators of the mill area attended the meeting.
The managing director sought co-operation from all quarters relating to production of the mills. The mill authorities have set a target to produce 8,250 tonnes of sugar by crushing 1,10,000 tonnes of sugarcane during current crushing season.
The recovery percentage of sugar in the mill during this season has been set at 7.50 per cent.
According to mills management sources, the working days of the mills during the current production season will be 92 days.
Now there are standing sugarcane on 9, 510 acres of land in the mills zone area, which will be crushed in the mills in the present crushing season.
