The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday launched an initiative to develop 2,000 young entrepreneurs in the country.
The DCCI, incorporating with Bangladesh Bank, held a motivational workshop in the Dhaka University’s business faculty auditorium, inaugurated by the university’s vice-chancellor, AAMS Arefin Siddique.
The DCCI held the daylong workshop as a part of university campaign for developing 2000 new entrepreneurs this year. The organisation will finance for 2,000 projects and the interested participant will have to submit their business ideas by September 30 by hand or through web site: www.business.org.bd.
Speaking at the workshop, Arefin Siddique lauded the DCCI initiative for holding the workshop to promote young and innovative entrepreneurs in the country.
He stressed the need for utilising the potentials of the students to contribute to the nation.
He called upon the students to expose their talents through establishing themselves as successful entrepreneurs despite shortage of resources and money.
DCCI president Md Sabur Khan identified investment, training, communication, human resources policy as sorts of challenges an entrepreneur might face first.
He said, ‘The DCCI, in cooperation with Bangladesh Bank, will cooperate interested entrepreneurs to solve these problems.’
Bangladesh Bank’s Short and Medium Entrepreneurs department general manager Sukamal Sinha Choudhury, DU business studies dean Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam and BB deputy general manager Md Abul Bashar, among others, attended the function.
