Defence counsel cross-examined the investigation officer (IO) against BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury for the second consecutive day at the International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) on Tuesday.
But the questioning remained unfinished when the tribunal adjourned the proceedings for the day. Advocate Ahsanul Huq Hena asked questions to investigator Nurul Islam as the 41st prosecution witness against the BNP lawmaker.
Apart from the aforementioned number of witnesses, the three-member tribunal, headed by its chairman Justice ATM Fazle Kabir, also accepted the statement of four persons, given to the investigation officer, as their depositions.
Salauddin Quader was arrested on December 16, 2010 by the law enforcement agencies on charge of his involvement in torching a car on June 26 the same year at Moghbazar, causing death of one person.
He was shown arrest in connection with the crimes against humanity by the tribunal-1 on December 19.
