Kylian Mbappe is set to return to international duty with France during the upcoming break in March, as reported by besocer.com. This was confirmed by ‘Les Blues’ head coach Didier Deschamps, who stated that the Real Madrid striker “will be part of the squad” in an interview with ‘L’Equipe’.
Mbappe’s dedication to the French national team came under scrutiny after he missed the international breaks in October and November, with Deschamps adding to the speculation by not addressing questions about the captain’s absence.
A couple of months ago, the 25-year-old appeared on ‘Canal+’ to clarify the situation, explaining: “In September, I asked the coach not to go. I had just arrived in Madrid. The coach insisted that I go. After October, I got injured. The coach told me it was better not to call me up. I wanted to go, but I can’t say why they didn’t call me.”
It appears that both parties are now ready to move past the drama and start fresh. Deschamps, who has announced his intention to step down from his role after the 2026 World Cup, will have Mbappe available for the quarter-final match against Croatia on March 20 and 23 in the Nations League.
