Leading bands of the country enthralled audience at a concert titled ‘Bijayer Galpa Bali Desh TV Concert’ held at the Sultana Kamal Mahila Krira Complex playground at Dhanmondi in the city on Saturday.
A total of five prominent bands Nagar Baul, Feedback, Souls, Aurthohin and Warfaze and popular singer Mila performed in the concert organised by private television channel Desh TV to mark the channel’s 1st founding anniversary.
Nagar baul vocal James sang popular numbers of the band ‘Lais fita lais’, ‘Dewana’, ‘Dustu chheler dal’, ‘Ma’, ‘Bijli’ and ‘Jatra’. The singer also sang his popular playback song of the Hindi film Gangster ‘Bheegi Bheegi Si’. Popular singer Mila performed ‘Bapu ram sapure’, ‘Rupban’, ‘Disco Bandar’, ‘Tumi sara debe’ and ‘Jatrabala’ while Feedback’s performance in the concert includes ‘Malai jaire’ and ‘Mousumi’.
Rock and metal band Aurthohin performed ‘Chaiteu paro’ and its remix version, ‘Jochna ajana path chala’, ‘Tumi bhorechho a mon’.
Partha Barua of the popular band Souls sang ‘Ei mukhorito jibone chaler pathe’, ‘Bristi dekhe anek kedechhi’, ‘Bondhu toke miss korchhi bhishion’, ‘Nissangata’, ‘E amon parichoi’ and ‘Ekla ghar dhulo makha guitar’.
Warfaze presented ‘Bose achhi aka’, ‘Somoyer chholonai’, ‘Tomake mone porbe’ and ‘Ei somoy’. The programme was telecast live on Desh TV.
Mafuf Hasan, an audience at the concert told New Age that he had enjoyed the concert but the Hindi song sung by James at the end of the concert was ‘unexpected’.
‘James should not have sung a Hindi song at the concert,’ he said. ‘I am a big fan of James and he has so many popular songs to perform,’ he added.
