The Bangladesh Football Federation has decided to renew the contracts of all 19 development coaches for another year, the body announced in a press release on Wednesday.
The BFF development committee finalised the decision after a lot of drama, having formed more than one committee to evaluate the three AFC ‘A’, 13 AFC ‘B’ and three AFC ‘C’ licensed coaches over the past few days.
A three-member evaluation committee of Saiful Bari Titu, Maruful Haque and BFF technical director Bayezid Zubayer Nipu submitted an evaluation report to the development committee after assessing all the coaches, but the committee then formed another five-member review committee.
That committee submitted their recommendation to the development committee a few days ago, but the final decision came one day after the previous contracts had expired.
BFF president Kazi Salahuddin had earlier said that he wanted to reduce the number of coaches.
However, the development committee convinced the BFF president on Wednesday to retain the coaches by saying that they would administer a large number of programmes to find youth talent at the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, the BFF also signed a one-year contract with Titu to be an assistant coach for the national team.
