Dhaka Metropolis sealed the third semi-final spot in the eighth Bangladesh Games after they prevailed over Chittagong Division by five wickets at the
Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra on Tuesday.
Dhaka Metro joined Rangpur and Khulna Division to book a place in the last four in the 20-over knockout competition.Chittagong elected to bat first after winning the toss and posted a fighting 165-9 in their stipulated 20 overs. Former national opener Nazimuddin struck exactly 50 while Mahbubul Karim and Faisal Hossain both chipped in with 30.
Arafat Sunny was the most successful Dhaka bowler with 5-42.
In reply, Mehrab Hossain (48) and Marshal Ayub (42) ensured Dhaka romped to their target of 166, losing five wickets. Asif Ahmed also scored a composed 38 as Dhaka were hardly troubled.
Monowar Hossain took 2-28 for Chittagong but he did not receive any support from the other end.
Dhaka Metro’s Sunny was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
