The students of Dhaka Nursing College today will organise a human chain in front of National Press Club, demanding reinitiating stipend for all students enrolling for nursing at the college.
They also demanded that the government should introduce one year internship and should issue the order letter immediately, said a press release.They said this while addressing a sit-in in front of the college on Sunday to press home their four-point demand.
The students demanded increase in the stipend amount to Tk 3000, keeping in mind the rising cost of living, the release said.
They expressed their dissatisfaction as the government issued an order for discontinuing the stipend.
They said the authorities did not take any step though they raised their demands several times.
They also announced that they would organise a sit-in programme on
the college premises on Tuesday and will observe fast-unto-death for
indefinite period from May 18, if their demands would go unheeded, the
release said.
