Officials of Dhaka University and United Nations Children’s Fund, Bangladesh on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding with a view to promoting health and nutrition, child protection, water, sanitation and hygiene education and research in the country, said a DU press release.
Under the MoU, DU and UNICEF would organise academic and research programmes, seminars and conferences, professional training on climate change and environment, the release states.
UNICEF would also provide the university with financial assistance and technical support to promote health and nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene education.
DU treasurer Md Kamal Uddin and UNICEF representative Pascal Villeneuve signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions at the vice-chancellor office.
DU VC AAMS Arefin Siddique, pro-vice-chancellor Shahid Akhtar Hossain of administrative and geology professor Kazi Matin U Ahmed, among others, were present on the occasion.
