Dil Afroze Khuki passed away while undergoing treatment at Mother Teresa Homes in the city this afternoon. She was 63.
She was a newspaper hawker and was known for her struggles for self-reliance, living a dignified life and charitable activities.
She passed away at 1:20pm, Shamsul Islam, an assistant commissioner of Rajshahi district administration, confirmed.
“Sister Adhelika from the homes informed me of her death,” Islam said.
Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed said he would visit the Mother Teresa Homes shortly and the district administration will arrange her proper burial.
