Daffodil International University celebrated the orientation programme for the students of fall semester 2023 at Shawdhinata Sommelon Kendra at Daffodil Smart City, Dhaka on Sunday with the theme ‘Students Lead University’.
M Lutfar Rahman, vice-chancellor of Daffodil International University, was present in the orientation programme as chief guest.
SM Mahbub Ul Islam Majumdar, pro-vice-chancellor, Mominul Haque Majumder, treasurer, Md Ismail Jabiullah, controller of examination, Mostafa Kamal, dean, permanent campus and Nadir Bin Ali, registrar of Daffodil International University were present as special guests.
Conducted by Syed Mizanur Rahman, director student affairs, the programme was addressed by deans and heads of different departments of the university.
Anik Hasan Joy, a student of Computer Science and Engineering department, has won the honour of receiving this year’s DIU Blue Award 2023 for his outstanding performance in sports, education and human values. VC Lutfar Rahman adorned Anik Hasan Joy with DIU Blue Award.
At the venue, 35 clubs of the university organised their own activities and presented them to the freshers, said a press release.
The VC said that Daffodil International University has been recognised as the QS ranked university in Banghladesh. Daffodil University is strictly maintaining its’ standard and quality of education and developing required infrastructure, he added.
The VC also said that 13 hundred graduates of Daffodil International University already have become entrepreneurs. They already created over 4 thousand employment opportunity for DIU Graduates.
