Prime Minister’s Health Affairs Advisor Prof Dr Syed Modasser Ali on Tuesday commented that our doctors are very good but they do not deliver good service outside Dhaka. “Our doctors perform well in Dhaka but they lose ideology if they are transferred outside Dhaka,” Dr Modasser as chief guest said at a roundtable on “National Tuberculosis Control Program: the effectiveness of DOTS” at BRAC Centre .
National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP), Health and Family Affairs Directorate, The Daily Samakal and BRAC jointly organized the programme.
Dr Ashek Hossain, director of NTP (TB and Leprosy) Dr Kawser Afsana, director of Health, Nutrition and Population Programme of BRAC, Dr Abdullah Shahriar of National Heart Foundation spoke among others and Abu Syed Khan, Managing Director of The Daily Samakal presided over the programme.
He also critised that many doctors, who have been working with Tuberculosis (TB) patients have no clear knowledge on it.
He said, the authority of TB hospitals could not send any project on allocation of building and land for TB patients to the ECNEC in the government’s four years.
The government will not take the responsibility itself, the concern authority will have to take the responsibility, he said.
