Jalwa, the first Ghazal album of Dr Ishrat Jahan, is now out in the market. The album, released recently under the banner of G-Series, features 10 Ghazal tracks, Nigahey dar pe, Jalwa, Jakhmo dil ke hasa nehi karte, Usi chaman mei chaley, Tujh ko jaab yaad kiya, Bhula de gaam and so on.
Dr Israt Jahan is a well-known Ghazal singer of the country. She was brought up in a music-oriented family and her mother always inspired her in singing. She received her Ghazal lessons from Ustad Iqbal Ahmed, a prominent Delhi based Ghazal singer.
This album features Ghazals penned by Mirza Ghalib, Shafaq Chisty, Makhdum Mahiuddin, Golam Rabbani Taba, Kaisar Haidari and others.
