The government today decided to extend this year’s Eid-ul-Azha holidays by a day, with June 27 included as part of the holidays.
According to a source close to developments, the decision was taken today during a cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Prothom Alo reported.
The earlier announcement said the Eid holidays would take place from June 28 to June 30. According to the new decision, the holiday will now begin from June 27.
This year’s Eid holiday will last five days as the day after June 30 is a Saturday.
A meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee is scheduled to be held this evening to determine the date of Eid-ul-Azha.
