Elita and Mahadi have started working on the sequel of their first album.
The duo’s first album titled Ontohin was released in 2009.
The sequel will be called Ontohin-2.
The songs for the upcoming album have been penned by Asif Iqbal and composed by Adit. The album will feature romantic numbers.
Mahadi and Elita said that they were making this album on people’s requests as they got a huge response from the listeners of their first album.
‘Music is an addiction for me but I have never tried hard to become a singer, it comes to me spontaneously,’ revealed Mahadi in an interview with New Age recently.
Mahadi, the Close up 1 star, has already established a place for himself in the contemporary music arena. Since 2005, he has released only three albums as he believes in quality not in quantity.
Contemporary singer Elita Karim is familiar to all as a promising singer; some may recognise her as an anchor too. But she considers herself to be a professional journalist since she has been engaged with a leading national English daily for a long time.
Asked if she is more passionate about journalism or music, Elita responded, ‘Journalism is my true profession and I can’t keep myself away from it.’
Mahadi while sharing his experience regarding Close up-1 music reality show stated, ‘Close up 1 gave us the much-needed exposure at the time for building our career in the country’s music arena. But for survival in the music industry, winning a contest is not everything. To me, dedication is the key to success’.
After Close up 1, his first solo-album Bandana was released in 2007 featuring songs composed by Prince Mahmud and written by Asif Iqbal. Mahadi witnessed the real turning point of his career in 2009 when his most popular song Shunil Boruna hit the market as a blockbuster.
Later on, he worked with Elita for their duet album in 2009. In 2010, his second solo album Onnorokom was released under the banner of Gangchil.
‘Recording of six songs has been completed already. The album featuring my duet songs with Elita is a major attraction to our fans,’ said Mahadi regarding the upcoming album Ontohin-2.
The album is expected to release before Eid-ul-Fitr.
