Popular director Kazi Hayat has released his recent film Eve-teasing in 50 cinemas across the country on Friday. The film is directed by Kazi Hayat and is produced under the banner of Kazi Hayat Films.
In this film Kazi Hayat, who has always made films concerning social issues, highlights the grave and atrocious issue of young girls being stalked by vicious men. The film is about how a girl becomes a victim of stalking, which takes shape into incidents of physical molestation and rape; and how she finally commits suicide.
‘I have always tried to do something for the society through my films. This film also focuses on a serious issue. Every year thousands of girls – especially school and college goers – are being teased, molested and even raped in our country which is really a matter of shame for any civilized society’, Kazi Hayat told New Age.
The director earlier collected numerous newspaper articles of stalking incidents. ‘Those paper-cuts prompted me to do something against the situation’, shared the director. The film includes Kazi Maruf, Toma Mirza, Mizu Ahmed, Habib Khan and others in the film cast.
