BNP acting secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said the government has been wasting time to resolve the ongoing political impasse.
Returning from Singapore after taking treatment, he made the comment while talking to reporters at Hazrat Shahjalal (Rh) International Airport. “During my stay in Singapore for 15 days, I came to know the situation of Bangladesh by reading newspapers. I think the government is responsible for the prevailing situation. And the government has to take initiative to resolve it,” he observed.
Party leaders and activists received him at the airport in the afternoon.
Replying to a question, the BNP leader said, he feels better now.
Asked whether he would join the political activities again or not, he said, “I want to begin work again in consultation with doctors.”
Mirza Fakhrul went to Singapore on May 14 for treatment.
Earlier, he was admitted to United Hospital with complication of blood circulation on May 6 after getting release from prison.
