Fatullah still a concern

There is a lot of work left to be done around the Fatullah Cricket Stadium, venue for two warm-up matches of the World Cup.
The first of the matches, between Canada and England, will be held on February 16 and with less than a week away, the local authorities including a high-level official have claimed of concern.
According to the National Sports Council (NSC) project director informed that the stadium could not be handed over to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) by January 31 as the main entrance gate is still not finished as is the road towards the gate. The stench from the nearby drainage of the dying factories was also raised in the meeting headed by principal secretary of the Prime Minister’s office Abdul Karim, who visited the venue before the discussion.
Another cause for worry was the unfinished approach road towards the town, a 100-feet stretch in front of Chasara, which could hamper visitors from going to Narayanganj.
