The police recovered the body of a female student hanging from a ceiling fan at Sylhet Agricultural Training Institution in the city Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Aklima Aktar, 19, daughter of Habibur Rahman of village Baktarpur in Sunamganj, a third year agricultural diploma student and a resident of room number 301 of Rokeya Hall of the institution.
Roommates said Aklima was in the room when they went out in the morning.
Returning at about 1:30pm, they found her body hanging from the ceiling, they added.
The Shah Paran police officer-in-charge, Akhter Hossain, told New Age that the body was sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
